The history on how the clans got their names:
At a gathering, not to long ago cats of StarClan came down in front of all the cats at the gathering. "We have failed you." Firestar said with grief in his voice. "The clans must get new names." He announced after a long silent pause. This aroused commotion from all the cats. Thunderstar padded up to the cats of ThunderClan.
"The thunder will at dusk, and all will be quiet." He said softly. "Thus, you will be called DuskClan." He announced. Windstar padded up to the cats of WindClan.
"The wind will be silent in the morning, and when it stops it will be peaceful." She whispered. "Thus," Her voice rose. "You will be called MorningClan." She announced. Riverstar padded up to the cats of RiverClan.
"The river will drown in the evening, and it will be mourning." He announced. "And that, you will be called EveningClan." He said in a brave tone. Shadowstar was the last to speak, she proudly padded up to the cats of ShadowClan.
"The shadows will die at dawn." She proudly announced. "And then you'll see the light. Thus, you'll be called DawnClan." She stepped in line with all the other StarClan cats.
"Dusk, morning, evening, and dawn. You'll live by the lake til' it strikes midnight." They all said, and vanished. The cats at the gathering went to announce the news to their clans.
