"We're outcasts.
"There's no other way to describe it, really. The year is 2005, our kinds have existed for generations - since the dawn of time and human existence, to be precise - and yet, we're persecuted. Why can't we live in peace alongside the 'humans'? We're not contagious. In fact, Gypsies were once a race of people on their own, and if you want to think creatively, they still are. Vampires simply crave life -- we're not something the world should shun. Would humans like it if we just snapped their necks and threw them off bridges because they looked at us wrong? And werewolves can't help that they change at the full moon; half of them don't even like it, but they adjust to their lives. The government - Hell, the world - can just take our 'disease' and shove it somewhere.
"So why do we have to be outcasts?"
-- Madame Athalia Marie Beaumont
The year is 2005, and all's quiet on the Eastern front. Or is it?
Located off the Northeastern coast of the United States, Hadley Institute for the Arts is an Institution for students to study the arts (may it be literal, visual, musical, or performing) and get a better grasp of them than they would at just any ordinary school -- and Hadley is anything but ordinary. Sure, the government and the outside world just see a school for the arts, but that's because they haven't been on the inside: Hadley has become a haven for "abnormal" people, as christened by the public. Werewolves and vampires stalk these halls, and Gypsies are also allowed to be free.
The curriculum is just like any arts school, the dormitories have the same comfortable beds, the cafeteria serves regular food... But that doesn't mean all the people are regular. There are enough humans to make it seem normal. Some of them have adapted to their odd peers, though sometimes, you can't always tell who's who. Your best friend could be a werewolf (so that's why he didn't come to the midnight party!) or maybe a vampire (I always knew that Kool-Aid looked weird...). Who knows?
